Mobicents Christmas present keep coming... Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.5.0.FINAL is out !

That's right, only one week after Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0.0.ALPHA1 has been released, here comes Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.5.0.FINAL, certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 6.0.29 and JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA .

And because we don't want Santa Claus to loose any important calls, we crafted you a release focusing on High Availability improvements :

• Early Dialog Failover
• Long Lived SIP Calls Passivation
• N nodes clusters (domains) linear scalability
• Load Balancer support for Early Dialog Failover

The other highlights of this release are :

• Move to Mobicents Media Server 2.1.0.BETA1 with enhanced quality
• Move To Mobicents Diameter 1.3.3 with enhanced performance and Gx support
• 50 bug fixes

Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0.0.ALPHA1 released !

We are proud to announce our Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0.0.ALPHA1 version , certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 7.0.5.

This release is the first step in our march towards creating Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0 whose goal will be Java EE 6 and CDI integration as well as integrating and evolving the SIP Servlets specification with the HTTP Servlets 3.0 specification.

You can play with it by trying the following examples .

A BIG Thanks to Georges Vagenas who has been contributing this first ALPHA release that will allow you to create Converged SIP/HTTP Applications benefiting from the new HTTP Servlet 3.0 features such as Asynchronous Support.

Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.4.0.FINAL released !

We are proud to announce our Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.4.0.FINAL version , certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 6.0.29 and JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA .

This release has a mixed focus of Production usage improvements, SIP Presence integration and JSR 289 improvements :

• XCAP Support with a shiny new Presence Example showcasing integration with Mobicents SIP Presence Service
• Concurrency Control API for concurrent access to the SIP Sessions from unmanaged threads
• Pluggable Congestion Control at SIP Stack level
• Improved HTTP Convergence and Buddy Group support for the Load Balancer
• Single SIP Stack for the whole container
• Updated JAIN SIP Stack with better support for forking

The other highlights of this release are :

• Move to Apache Tomcat version 6.0.29 which brings the JRE Memory Leak Prevention Listener to Tomcat version of MSS.
• Move to Mobicents Media Server 2.0.0.GA
• Move To Mobicents Diameter 1.3.1 to be able to use HA features

I'm looking for consultants, freelancers in the US or Europe for Mobicents.
Ideally the profile would be to already know or use or contribute to Mobicents, have good knowledge about SIP (JAIN SIP and NIST SIP Stack is a plus) and know SIP Servlets, High Availability/Failover/ Load Balancing (about SIP and ideally HTTP as well).
JAIN SLEE, Media and Telco protocols knowledge is a plus.

Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.3.1 released !

OKI Contributes their SSF Framework to Mobicents !

We are delighted to announce that OKI has become a Mobicents contributor and chosen Mobicents as a Platform to open source their Spring SIP Servlets Application Framework that will allow SIP Servlets application developers to add easily VoIP features to their existing Spring applications.

This makes Mobicents SIP Servlets the one stop shop place where app developers can leverage their existing Frameworks such as the populars Seam and Spring and extend their apps with Communications 2.0 features through Seam Telco Framework and SSF respectively.

By doing so OKI has taken one first great of many steps towards open sourcing their high expertise and experience to help develop stable and powerful convergent applications quickly.

Through such efforts, OKI plans to help expand the field of info-telecom converged solutions based on SIP Servlets, so it is to be expected that more frameworks/tooling is going to be contributed to increase the overall developer experience and community around SIP Servlets to Mobicents.

OKI Contributes their SSF Framework to Mobicents !

Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.3 released !

We are proud to announce our Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.3 version , certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 6.0.20 and JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA .

This release doesn't propose Mobicents Sip Servlets on top of JBoss 4.2.x series anymore. If you need still need support for it, we recommend you to either upgrade to the JBoss 5.x series or buy a JBCP subscription

As such our latest release's focus was essentially on the JBoss 5.x version and has a focus on stability and increased performance and the move to JSR 309 for all media examples. This also means Media examples can run on Tomcat as well now :

• Updated JAIN SIP Stack with better memory and CPU usage, which shows up to 50% perf improvements
• Move all MSS Media Examples to JSR 309
• New Extensions for features outside the JSR 289
• New Diameter Example Showcasing the usage of Ro/Rf
• Mobicents SIP/Converged Balancer reached 1.0.0.FINAL
• Clustering and High Availability where many bugs were fixed

The other highlights of this release are :

• Move to Mobicents Media Server 2.0 CR2
• Move To Mobicents Diameter 1.2.1
• More than 40 bug fixes

Discover how Mobicents 2.0 can help you build those true innovative converged applications through its main components, fully integrated into the JBoss 5 Application Server :

• JAIN SLEE 1.1 (JSR 240) container : a high-performance, scalable and fault tolerant Service Level Execution Environment designed to support the rapid development of robust telecommunications applications in Java
• SIP Servlets 1.1 (JSR 289) container : a container based model that is an extension of the well understood HTTP Servlet model for Telecommunications Over IP applications. It was designed to simplify the development of SIP based applications and convergence with existing or new Java EE applications
• Media Server (JSR 309) : deliver best-of-breed media gateway functionality to add IVR, Conference,Announcements and recording features to your applications featuring highest quality and allowing you to bridge to the existing legacy phone infrastructure.

Here is our new shiny Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.2 release, certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 6.0.20 and JBoss AS 4.2.3.GA & 5.1.0.GA and licensed under LGPL.

This release is the last community version that will propose Mobicents Sip Servlets on top of JBoss 4.2.x series. If you need still need support for it, we recommend you to either upgrade to the JBoss 5.x series or buy a JBCP subscription

As such our latest release's focus was essentially on the JBoss 5.x version and has a mixed focus :

• More management metrics/control :
  • More Congestion Controls : Sip Session/ Sip App Session Creation per sec; and Alerts and value or percentage for back to normal
  • More Monitoring Stats : Number of responses received per Status code, Number of requests received per Request Method
  • More Monitoring Stats for the Mobicents Load Balancer : Number of responses received per Status code, Number of requests received per Request Method
  • Add JMX capabilities to the Mobicents JAIN SIP Stack
• Clustering and High Availability where many bugs were fixed and SipApplicationSession Fault Tolerant Timers have been implemented (only on JBoss 5.x version)
