The only thing is that the Media facilities are not present anymore and media should be done through JSR 309

Our Hudson CI job http://hudson.jboss.org/hudson/job/MobicentsSipServletsTck/ runs on JDK 1.5. But we use 1.6 on our day to day development w/o any hassle. We will add a job to test against 1.6 for the upcoming 1.2 release

@Anonymous : if you want to bridge to the old PSTN network, meaning if you want to be able to call cell phones or landline phones, yes you need a gateway. You can also use a VoIP Provider such as callwithus.com, callcentric.com, ... that will do the bridge of SIP messages to the PSTN network for you (see their charge rates for that). You can look at our IPBX example, it allows you to specify your VoIP provider to call the outside world.

I've looked around your website before (serveral times) (mobicents.com) and I could not find anywhere what is needed for a complete (hardware?) stack. And it annoyed me.

The OBVIOUS: Do you need a type of gateway to be able to send phone messages? Do they cost? I'd start using this today but never could find out these details.

Indeed the JBoss 5 version includes a snapshot version of the new Mobicents Media Server 2.x working on top of JBoss 5 as well.
The presence server is not yet ported to JBoss 5 AFAIK, you can request it on http://groups.google.com/group/mobicents-public/topics or file an Issue for it at http://code.google.com/p/mobicents/issues/list.

the supported version is JDK 5 but JDK 6 should be working fine as well.
