Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.7.0.FINAL is out !

We are proud to announce Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.7.0.FINAL, certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 6, Tomcat 7, JBoss AS5 and JBoss AS 7 (ALPHA) and licensed under LGPL v2.1.

This release comes with a change of home for Mobicents SIP Servlets which now gets its own dedicated google code project and move to Git to accommodate the growing numbers of contributors.

The release comes with the following new features :

• Mobicents SIP Servlets on JBoss AS7
• Abstraction layer for multi container support 
• keepalive support and cleanup for client-initiated connections as per RFC 5626 (NAT Traversal)
• RFC 4916 support
• Mobicents SIP Servlets on Tomcat 7

Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0.0.ALPHA2 and CDI Telco Framework 1.0.0.ALPHA1 released !

We are proud to announce our Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0.0.ALPHA2 version , certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 7.0.8.

This release goes a step further in our march towards creating Mobicents Sip Servlets 2.0 by adding :

• CDI integration with our new framework : Converged CDI Telco Framework (CTF) . CTF mission statement is to simplify SipServlets development by introducing a component based programming model, ease of development by making available SIP utilities out of the box, and finally providing dependency injection and contextual lifecycle management to the SipServlets.
  
• Better Servlet 3.0 integration : Check out our Converged Click2Call Async Servlet 3.0 application that leverages the new Async (Server Push) features from the Servlet 3.0 specification integrated to the Sip Servlets specification

Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.3.1 released !

OKI Contributes their SSF Framework to Mobicents !

We are delighted to announce that OKI has become a Mobicents contributor and chosen Mobicents as a Platform to open source their Spring SIP Servlets Application Framework that will allow SIP Servlets application developers to add easily VoIP features to their existing Spring applications.

This makes Mobicents SIP Servlets the one stop shop place where app developers can leverage their existing Frameworks such as the populars Seam and Spring and extend their apps with Communications 2.0 features through Seam Telco Framework and SSF respectively.

By doing so OKI has taken one first great of many steps towards open sourcing their high expertise and experience to help develop stable and powerful convergent applications quickly.

Through such efforts, OKI plans to help expand the field of info-telecom converged solutions based on SIP Servlets, so it is to be expected that more frameworks/tooling is going to be contributed to increase the overall developer experience and community around SIP Servlets to Mobicents.

We are proud to announce our Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.3 version , certified against the Sip Servlets 1.1 specification and working on top of Tomcat 6.0.20 and JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA .

This release doesn't propose Mobicents Sip Servlets on top of JBoss 4.2.x series anymore. If you need still need support for it, we recommend you to either upgrade to the JBoss 5.x series or buy a JBCP subscription

As such our latest release's focus was essentially on the JBoss 5.x version and has a focus on stability and increased performance and the move to JSR 309 for all media examples. This also means Media examples can run on Tomcat as well now :

This release is the last community version that will propose Mobicents Sip Servlets on top of JBoss 4.2.x series. If you need still need support for it, we recommend you to either upgrade to the JBoss 5.x series or buy a JBCP subscription

Here is our new shiny Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.1 release !

The focus of this release has been Clustering and High Availability where refactoring has been done to give the community more flexibility, stability and accomodate more architectures.

Thus Our Sip Load Balancer has been completely revamped to be SIP Transaction Stateless, Distributable, Convergent with an HTTP Forwarder (based on Netty project) added, allow pluggable algorithms and the Sip Servlets Container itself has had numerous improvements for Clustering and Failover with HA persistent timers, reduced network traffic for SIP Sessions replication, JAIN SIP has been extended to become an HA SIP Stack and much more

We also added a new alerting application allowing the JBoss RHQ/Jopr Enterprise Management Solution to give calls or send SMS to System Administrators when monitoring alerts are fired : See Jopr is Talking, RHQ and future of Alerts, and RHQ/Jopr Mobicents Alerts

Our Mobicents Sip Servlets certified implementation runs on top of Apache Tomcat 6.0.14, JBoss AS 4.2.3.GA and JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA.

Mobicents Sip Servlets 1.0 released !

370 calls per second for 100 Million calls served on Mobicents Sip Servlets 0.9 !

Mobicents Sip Servlets 0.9 that we just released last week has been through a load test done by Luis Barreiro, our dedicated QA engineer for the Mobicents Platform.

The load test went on for over 75 hours at a rate of 370 calls per seconds on TCP and served 100 Million Calls :-)

Mobicents Sip Servlets 0.9 Released !

Here is our new shiny Mobicents Sip Servlets 0.9 release !

The focus of this release has been to add support for converged HTTP/SIP failover with complete converged replication (both of HTTP Sessions and SIP Sessions), add Tooling support with a brand new Sip Servlets Eclipse plugin to create Sip Servlets applications and an eclipse embedded Sip Phone to be able to test those apps.

We also added support for JRuby so that you can create pure JRuby (and on Rails) VoIP applications able to start or receive calls.

Also as part of this release, the Mobicents IPBX advances to BETA1 version with the new Seam Telco Framework 2.0

Our Mobicents Sip Servlets implementation run (and is certified against the SIP Servlets 1.1 spec) on top of Apache Tomcat 6.0.14, JBoss AS 4.2.3.GA and JBoss AS 5.0.1.GA.

The other highlights of this release are :

* Java EE/EJBs/SIP converged applications are now supported for the JBoss 5 version
* Bundled User Guides for both Mobicents Sip Servlets and Mobicents Media Server
* More than 20 bug fixes
